The IIMAS Library

The IIMAS library is specialized in applied mathematics, statistics and computer science.

The Library’s prime goal is to foster the search for knowledge and information and to update the scientific knowledge of its collection to align itself with to evolving aims of each of the Departments with IIMAS, as well as aiming to disseminate this knowledge to a broad audience inside and outside the University. To achieve this, it has implemented an efficient process where the academics of the Institute are actively involved in the acquisition of new titles. It has also developed a dynamic electronic information system that lies on the cutting edge of database systems with regular hardware and network updates occurring to provides the library’s users with outstanding facilities.

Its collection consists of approximately 30,878 books and 69,456 journal issues. It has 339 subscriptions to the most important journals in the areas relevant to IIMAS’s Departments, 299 of them in digital format. Moreover, there is a vast collection of electronic books and journals from major editorial companies, accessible through the library’s web page which also offers 2,174 digital resources of various types.

The professional staff of the library also support several graduate programs of the University. It also offers interlibrary loans from a large group of libraries belonging to institutions outside of UNAM.

The IIMAS library is recognized as one of the country’s best specialized libraries.
